Spring this year was really just an impediment in our way–an obstacle standing between us and our Florida vacation where we would see Uncle Joel, Aunt Shelley, and “little” David, where we would reconnect with family friends, where we would spend our days soaking in the sunshine, salt water and the bathwater temp pool. Where we would play games, have unlimited snacks, take bike rides, and where daddy would be around to play. all. day. Jude had a countdown up on the bedroom door a full 88 days before we left. Asher made his own calendar and marked off each day. And dinner conversation was full of “when we get to Florida…” Despite the hope deferred feeling of a vacation that never seems to come and the boredom of “today,” we managed to have some fun this spring!
The annual egg-coloring. Jude nicely spiritualized our tradition, assuming that the egg hunt is symbolic of Jesus’ death and resurrection. When mommy and daddy hide the egg, it’s like burying Jesus. When the kids find the eggs, it’s like a resurrection. Not bad, kid!

And some spring soccer. As usual, I neglected to bring my camera to a momentous occasion–Asher’s final match, so all I have to represent spring soccer is once picture of Jude. Jared decided it was time for me to have a smart phone though, so I should never be caught camera-less again. Doing a little happy dance of my own now!
